Sam Dunkle just
attended the 2009 USA SWIMMING SPEEDO CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES CENTRAL
ZONE SECTION 1 at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center on
July 22-25, 2009 (Wednesday – Saturday). This is a qualifying
meet...so there are time standards to be able to swim at the
meet.
This was a
big meet. College swimmers from schools across the Zone included
Univerity of Minnesota, Iowa, Northwestern. This was a fast meet.

Sam had a great
meet. I knew he was going to swim fast...he was right on physically
and mentally. Sam swam 5 events at the meet. He had a PR or
lifetime best in all his swims. 100% on...it was
great!
800 Free he took 22nd
out of 55 with a time of 8:54.99. He cut 14 seconds from his
lifetime best swim.
200 Free (Bonus
Event) he took 90 out of 178 with a time of 2;02.36. He cut 4
seconds from his lifetime best swim.
100 Fly (Bonus Event)
he took 118 out of 150 with a time of 1:03.36. He cut 2
seconds from his lifetime best swim
400 Free he took 46th
out of 112 with a time of 4:17.41. He cut 8 seconds from his
previous lifetime best.
Mile 1500M he took
18th out of 40 with a time of 17:07. 22. He cut 28 seconds from his
previous lifetime best swim.
Sam will swim at the
state meet this weekend. He is seeded 1st in 6 out of his 7
events.
